Lucky Diana is now able to enjoy her retirement by the pool doing the hobbies she like best.
This example of how a framed caricature can look shows what a great retirement gift a caricature can be. Using some supplied photos artist Zalo created this fun artwork as a retirement gift from Giana’s work colleagues. Note the subtle hint at her past call center job.
If you know someone retiring, or going to a job and you’d like to give them a farewell leaving gift – why not consider a caricature. Other than as birthday gifts, caricatures as retirement gifts is the most popular reason for getting a caricature drawn.

A customer contacted me about getting a caricature gift for a man who was a worker at Starbucks and who, after a couple of years diligent work, was leaving.
This guy was evidently a great employee, had a bit of fun attitude and so they wanted to provide a leaving gift that would remind him of his days at Starbucks.
The resulting caricature art of this Starbucks guy is the gift they gave. What a great idea….and all we needed was a photo to create this custom art gift.

Golfers and caricatures seem to go together like sand traps and golf balls…. made for each other!
Here is a fun caricature by artist Harry of a golfer, with the colors and the logo done to request by the client. Golfing caricatures are a popular retirement gift idea.
This example was drawn by caricature artist Harry. You can also browse the styles of other artist’s golfing caricatures here

As we approach the end of the year, many long-term employees are using the end of the calendar year to also mark their retirement date.
So comes the question for the business or government department – WHAT ARE WE GOING TO GET AS A RETIREMENT GIFT??
While there are some typical gifts, perhaps the most fun,and one that can incorporate aspects of the worker’s time at work and their hobbies or intended activities after retirement is a piece of custom art.
At caricatureking.com we have a range of artists and styles that will suit the gift recipient – and one they will be proud to hang on their wall at home in fond remembrance of their time at work.
Here is a sample by artist George (logo smudged purposefully for this example)

I was going to title this post “Why your Mother was Wrong when she Stopped you Pulling Faces in Family Photos”. Bit long, but I still have the same thing to say…a straight face is a bad and even worse, a Boring face.
A smile is better, but when it comes to the world of humorous art, pulling a funny face for your photo makes a great caricature. What we don’t want are passport or drivers licence style expressions. Keep those for your morgue photos.
Here is a recent example created by Harry, there the client’s staff rose to the occasion and were not only willing but eager to have their photos taken with wacky expressions!!
Sure as this was a caricature of the guys doing the haka meant they were more inclined to pull a face in front of the camera, but having some fun expressions really opens up the opportunity for something truly creative.
Next time you are wanting a fun caricature for a family caricature (oh WOW, couldn’t we have some fun!) retirement, birthday, anniversary, or even wedding invitation (no better time to pull a face) remember, have fun!!
