Known as Fogueres de Sant Joan, in the Valencia region of Spain, between the 20-24 of June each year, Alicante comes alive with one of the most memorable street parties Spain has to offer.
Day 1 “La Plantà” is he day where each monument or effigy is erected and categorized by the judges. The children’s effigies are judged in the morning and the rest in the afternoon evening. Traditionally each statue has to be finished and erected in one day in order to avoid disqualification. The statues are erected by a group of people that have participated in the construction of the statues.
A fun way to use caricatures!
