The big event for February is of course Valentine’s Day. It is a time of year when there is a mad scramble for ordering or purchasing chocolates or flowers or sometimes even a gift of greater duration.
Every year here at Caricature King we see a steady increase in the ordering of caricatures. I use the term caricatures loosely, because for many of our artists, it is more a case of fun realistic art.
The humour comes not so much from any distortion or exaggeration, but through the fun portrayal of the people both in the clothing and the setting. Of course there is always the fascination of seeing how someone else interprets your face!
Here is a sweet example by artist Harry of a couple, one of whom had the foresight to bind their love for the other in the form of a custom artwork.
As you can see the inclusion of specific detail makes this gift extra special and one that can be proudly displayed on a wall for years to come…long after roses have wilted and chocolates have created extra curves!
As we are in Mid-January, this is an ideal time to be ordering your own romantic heirloom from one of our team of artists who can create the perfect Valentines Day gift.

I was going to title this post “Why your Mother was Wrong when she Stopped you Pulling Faces in Family Photos”. Bit long, but I still have the same thing to say…a straight face is a bad and even worse, a Boring face.
A smile is better, but when it comes to the world of humorous art, pulling a funny face for your photo makes a great caricature. What we don’t want are passport or drivers licence style expressions. Keep those for your morgue photos.
Here is a recent example created by Harry, there the client’s staff rose to the occasion and were not only willing but eager to have their photos taken with wacky expressions!!
Sure as this was a caricature of the guys doing the haka meant they were more inclined to pull a face in front of the camera, but having some fun expressions really opens up the opportunity for something truly creative.
Next time you are wanting a fun caricature for a family caricature (oh WOW, couldn’t we have some fun!) retirement, birthday, anniversary, or even wedding invitation (no better time to pull a face) remember, have fun!!

What is better for Valentines than a bunch of roses that wilt after three days?
A gift that lasts as long as your love of course!!
But why a caricature?
A caricature is a fun way to say I love you in a way that lasts and lasts. A caricature allows you to have something special created that will WOW your love!
Print it for hanging on a wall (we can assist with poster prints, canvas or framed prints), put on a mug or t-shirt etc (see our accessories page for ideas) – yes a caricature is also flexible!
PLUS!! if you would like some romantic wording (supplied by you) placed on your caricature, we can do this for at NO extra cost cost.
Visit our Valentines caricatures page for ideas and to start ordering.
If you would like your caricature by Valentine’s Day it is important that you order ASAP.

The customer said:
“The art is perfect and Eddie’s final idea for the big paw print is wonderful! The gift was very much appreciated by the birthday boy! So thank you.”

Many are the stars I see, but in my eye no star like thee.
For you see, each day I love you more
A hundred hearts would be too few,
To carry all my love for you.
Grow old with me! The best is yet to be
We love with a love that is more than love
I’ve fallen in love many times… always with you
I love you like crazy, baby
The most beautiful view is the one I share with you
You have my whole heart for my whole life
I love you without knowing how, why, or even from where…
