I get the occasional email enquiry about the process of developing caricatures. So here is a brief overview.
1. The first step is in the hands of the customer - choosing which artist they like. This is made easier by looking at their sample pages.
2. Next the order form is completed and payment made. Yes we require prepayment as the volume of work means tracking deposits and part payments became impossible.
3. Next the source images need to be emailed. At this time if there are any questions from either the customer or here at Caricature King, they can be resolved. These can include firming up a concept idea etc
4. Next the artist will do a draft which is emailed to the customer. This allows the customer to see the artist’s interpretation and to have any changes made. Nine times out of 10 there will be no or only minor changes required.
This is what a draft from artist Rick looks like:

5. Finally the artist inks and colours the image.

As you can see the result is fantastic! This is then emailed to the customer. For US and Australian customers there is also the option of ordering a poster sized print or having the image professionally printed and framed.
Caricatures make great gifts. I have been to several events where caricatures have been given and the response from the recipient has always been fantastic!

Caricatures are great fun and even more so, often, when they are not of humans.
The artists at Caricature King are a pretty flexible lot….and and produce the goods when asked.
Here are some examples:

This cheeky young filly was produced by artist Shane and is rather cute.

This guy was drawn by artist Rick - a mean ol’ catfish if ever there was one!

This Aussie darling was created by artist George. Nah - your butt looks just fine!
So if you are after something different, we have the artists. Please note that work for logos or commercial use attract a higher rate.

It is always great when customers send back photo of the person with the caricature. This is the result of a nice simple request or artist Rick:
The guy on the left as you look at the picture - full body with a surfing theme, but this one I would like with a blue print frame. The guy on the right (changed my mind again - definitely the last time) would like full body with a guitar theme. This is the one I require with the red print frame.
.
As it turns out once the image was done and a digital copy sent, there was some adjustment in the mat color (which is good, we often will suggest an alternative color if we feel the original selection may not be the best - once we see the colors used in the caricature). This job was for an Australian customer using our Australian framer.

This job was for a lady who wanted to recognise her boss’s election to Parish President. What a great way of congratulating him!

The caricature is more than I expected. I am very pleased and will recommend Rick to everyone. Looking forward to seeing the finished product; I will surely be ordering again.
This work was completed by artist Rick and was ordered as a printed and framed final.
