I was going to title this post “Why your Mother was Wrong when she Stopped you Pulling Faces in Family Photos”. Bit long, but I still have the same thing to say…a straight face is a bad and even worse, a Boring face.
A smile is better, but when it comes to the world of humorous art, pulling a funny face for your photo makes a great caricature. What we don’t want are passport or drivers licence style expressions. Keep those for your morgue photos.
Here is a recent example created by Harry, there the client’s staff rose to the occasion and were not only willing but eager to have their photos taken with wacky expressions!!
Sure as this was a caricature of the guys doing the haka meant they were more inclined to pull a face in front of the camera, but having some fun expressions really opens up the opportunity for something truly creative.
Next time you are wanting a fun caricature for a family caricature (oh WOW, couldn’t we have some fun!) retirement, birthday, anniversary, or even wedding invitation (no better time to pull a face) remember, have fun!!
Questions or comment, please let me know 🙂

Here are a couple of caricatures ordered by one client. Completed by John.
I received two pictures from Caricature King around Christmas and I wanted to thank Matt and my artist (John). I meant to send feedback sooner but I’ve been pretty busy. The pictures were amazing! Thank you so much, Matt, for chatting with me and helping me figure out the concepts. The pics were a huge hit! My family and I were thrilled with the outcome of the photos (John you have a gift!). I will definitely be recommending this cite to family and friends. Thank you again!

Sailing off into tropical ports sounds like a great idea, and for many people they are lucky enough to turn this into a reality and tick it off their bucket list.
No matter is the trip is a holiday, something for retirement or marks a wedding anniversary, a caricature of the occasion is a great gift idea. Who would have thought that a caricature of a bucket list activity would be so popular, but they are!
This sailing caricature showing a couple marking their 50th wedding anniversary was a well received gift.
Completed by our artist John, you to can order a caricature online that will make a great gift that will have people talking about it as well as how clever you were to think of such a great idea!

A customer sent us this picture of the coloured and framed version of the BW caricature by Eddie in the previous post. As you can see the colours add an extra element of vibrancy and it looks great framed with the avocado matt.
The customer loves it: “8am delivery, LOVE IT..
The final result with frame. Thanx heaps Eddie and Matt .. awesome stuff”
